Bret Lurz

FOUNDER & HEAD COACH, FOUNDATIONS COACH, PERSONAL COACHING

Bret is the Founder and Head Coach at Everlasting Fitness. As a young athlete, he participated in track and field events ranging from cross country to the pole vault. He also competed in the Junior Olympics’ high jump and hurdles and was a walk-on track and field athlete for U of Maryland, College Park. Years later, Bret began a career as a personal trainer at a Globo gym. The experience left a lot to be desired as the workouts were boring and uninspired.

Bret needed a change and he found it in the form of CrossFit. “I saw a CrossFit video online and decided to check it out. I walked into a box and got smoked the first day but I loved every second of it. Six months later, I earned my Level 1 and started my coaching journey at my home gym.” Bret believes training should be exciting. He wants each member to enjoy it as much as he does. “I love showing clients how Fitness, Nutrition and Mindset can get them the results they want and be fun at the same time. It’s an eye-opening experience because once they realize it, there’s no turning back!”

Morgan Lurz

Morgan is a Coach and Manager at Everlasting Fitness. She’s been active most of her life starting with soccer and softball as well as high school cheerleading. But once she hit college, everything changed. She was no longer a paragon of fitness. She’d become inactive and complacent, which led her to start CrossFit in 2012.

When Morgan initially joined Everlasting Fitness, she wasn’t searching for a coaching gig. She didn’t choose it, it chose her. “I thought I wasn’t good enough to fill the position. But I quickly realized it wasn’t about being the best. It was about encouraging and motivating every person that walked through the door. Our members are what make being a coach so exciting. Their will to learn more, push harder, and live healthier is inspiring to me.”

Michelle-Casler

Michelle Casler

COACH, NUTRITION COACH

Michelle Casler joined Everlasting Fitness and quickly found the sport and community was something she was passionate about. Michelle was a gym member for two years before taking the plunge and earning her Level 1 certificate. In addition to coaching CrossFit, Michelle enjoys helping members improve their nutrition and using this powerful tool to reach their goals. In 2018, Michelle furthered her knowledge earning her Level 2 certificate and Precision Nutrition certification.

Toni-Guidi

Toni Guidi

COACH, PERSONAL COACHING

Toni is a Coach at Everlasting Fitness with an intensive fitness background that consists of 5Ks, 10Ks, plus half and full marathons. She’s also competed in sprints, Olympic and half-ironman triathlons as well as GoRuck Tough events. Previous passions include boxing and spinning. Toni spent years running, swimming, and biking and was desperate for a change.

“I needed to find something new that was a challenge and provided a new experience. Between learning Olympic lifts, double unders and other CrossFit moves, I was challenged in a way I never thought possible.” Toni loves sharing knowledge whether it’s in a college classroom or a CrossFit box. Teaching others is her driving force. “I love the collaboration that goes along with coaching. Both the athlete and I work for the same goal, which is to promote overall health and fitness.”

Ryan Jones

Ryan is a Coach at Everlasting Fitness who’s always had an interest in health and fitness. He’s done everything from hiking to yoga and Pilates, to strength training and cardio, which ultimately led to CrossFit. Ryan joined a gym where his hard work and discipline would eventually pay off. “I was approached to become a coach and jumped at the opportunity to help Bret find a new space and open up Everlasting.” Every day Ryan gets to share his love of training with our members. It’s a gift for both the coach and athletes alike.

Joe is a Coach at Everlasting Fitness who loves pushing people beyond their mental and physical limits. Bit by the fitness bug as a youth, he participated in football, wrestling, and lacrosse in high school. The latter of which he continued at a Division 1 level in college. As an adult, he started CrossFit and found that it was both physically and emotionally fulfilling. So much so, that he wanted to give back to its amazing community.

“I absolutely love teaching and helping people. So, becoming a CrossFit coach was a natural fit. It’s my goal to make your fitness journey as smooth as possible. We’re all on different paths and I really love being a part of that.”

Holly began CrossFit in January 2013. Growing up she was involved in lots of different sports including softball and running. Since finding CrossFit she has enjoyed sharing her love for the sport to all especially newcomers.

Watching those members grow and push themselves beyond what they thought was possible is icing on the cake.

Focusing on positivity and continued growth, Holly helps members increase overall health and wellness. She also has a knack for mobility, she loves helping people increase their range of motion to perform movements proficiently and safely; also to aid in recovery.

Lisa-Green

Lisa Green

COACH, FOUNDATIONS COACH, PERSONAL COACHING

Lisa started her CrossFit journey at Camp Humphreys, South Korea in August 2012 after getting bored with, and seeing no results other gym routines. She received her Level 1 Certification in May 2013. She moved to CrossFit 254 in Killeen, Texas in 2015 where she received her Level 2 Certification in May 2016.

Lisa has a particular fondness for working with beginner athletes and enjoys sharing her rowing experience from Florida State University Crew. She loves the idea that CrossFit is adaptable for all ages and abilities. As Coach Glassman says, “Our understanding is that the needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.”

Growing up I was an avid soccer player, playing throughout high school and college. Once my career in soccer had finished I wanted to see what Crossfit was all about so I walked into a gym in January, 2014! From the second I started I knew it was a new found passion. I love the high intensity workouts and weightlifting. The incredible community was a huge bonus! After a year I decided to get my Level 1 and help support others in CrossFit. CrossFit has brought so much joy and happiness into my life that I couldn’t imagine my life without it!

Megan-Smith

Megan Smith

Meg found the sport in 2009 and immediately connected with the variety, the challenge, and the community. A competitive swimmer since an early age, Meg competed at the D1 level while at the U.S. Naval Academy, but post-college decided to try various other sports. She has taught all kinds of exercise classes, from water aerobics to boot camp to cycle/spin classes, ultimately becoming certified to coach CF in 2010.

Meg has, due to her family’s military lifestyle, belonged to 6 different CrossFit gyms, to include the CF gym she co-owned prior to moving to Maryland. When asked what she learned from her different CF experiences, she said “Ultimately, CF, when done right, gives you everything you need. Quality coaching focused on sound technique, a place that challenges you and accepts you, and workouts that develop you provide the greatest chance at living a full and healthy life. My goal is to make each athlete work out safer, harder, and with greater confidence to the ultimate goal of knowing that some day, whether tomorrow or 40 years from now, he or she will be able to actively play with their grandchildren because of how they took care of their body today.” Meg is excited for the privileged title of Coach, and looks forward to challenging each athlete to personally push just a little harder, with a little refinement, every time she can.

My CrossFit journey began for me with a pair of dumbbells, a
barbell and a few plates. My brother Rich, whom had already
been doing CrossFit, would help me design WODs for me to
do out of our garage. It wasn’t much, but it was a start and I quickly fell in love with what I now call my passion. It didn’t take long until I knew I had to step out of my garage and into a “box” which lead me to: CrossFit Everlasting! I haven’t looked back since. Although I love the fitness component of Crossfit, it is SO much more than just that.

Here at CrossFit Everlasting, it is a community, a fellowship that encourages and binds us all together as one family striving towards the same goal: which is to become better. Not just better athletes, but better people as well. That’s the “more” part. Inspired by games athlete Rich Froning and his passion for faith, I believe being “fueled by faith” ultimately keeps me going every day. It is amazing the love and support you receive from your crossfit mates, pushing you to help you
become better both inside and outside the box. And I love
returning it! It’s perfectly scalable to all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities! I encourage you to join in on this wonderful, transformative experience that is CrossFit. I hope I can share my love and knowledge of CrossFit with you and how faith can be your fuel too, to become better!

Dan-Himmer

Dan Himmer

WEIGHTLIFTING COACH

Dan is a weightlifting coach at CrossFit Everlasting, with a strength background stretching back to his high school days. A former high school baseball player, he found weightlifting as a means to get stronger for his sport.

Dan has been a member of CFE since it’s inception, and has been competing in weightlifting since 2014, lifting in the 85kg, 77kg, and now 81kg weight classes. He is a perennial qualifier for national level meets. As a weightlifting coach, believes in pushing an athlete beyond their perceived limits and reinforcing the importance of mental toughness in weightlifting.
